The Galactica Project

Easily the very best speakers we offer, lead time for these remarkable speakers is twelve weeks. There is one prototype pair in stock available for the discounted price of $15,000.00. These are veneered in Birdseye Maple and you must hear them to believe them.

The standard cabinet finish is a jet black paint with a satin lacquer topcoat. Standard veneers are Maple, Cherry and Walnut. Our Tony Gee speaker designs are manufactured with Tony’s permission and a portion of the sale goes directly to him. For custom veneers contact us for a quote.

This is the Tony Gee designed three way speaker featuring the excellent German made Thiel & Partner ceramic drivers and an Eton woofer. You will be completely pleased with these cabinets. My first night listening was a pleasure that only gets better as they break in! The crossover was built using very high quality components as suggested on Tony’s website. Drivers used are the Thiel & Partner C90-T6-89 (previously identified as C-89-T6) ,the C2-79/6 , and the Eton 8-472/32 LH . The enclosures shown are veneered with a Japanese Tamo burl on the front baffle and a Mappa burl on the rest of the surfaces. They are lined with an epdm dampening material, layered with a 1/2″ wool felt, and stuffed with an acoustic fibrous tangle. Cabinet footprint is 10 1/2″ x 21″ x 40″ tall and weight is 107 lbs. each with drivers installed. These were the best speakers I had ever built (until the Galacticas) and present an amazing sound experience. Every cabinet is carefully handmade with meticulous precision and easily compare to systems selling for twice the price. Lead time for these speakers is six to eight weeks.

This is the Tony Gee designed two way speaker featuring the excellent German made Thiel & Partner ceramic drivers. The standard crossover includes Obligatto caps, Mundorf metal oxide film resistors and Solen perfect lay inductors . The crossover components may also be customized at the purchasers request. Drivers used are the Thiel & Partner C90-T6-89 (previously identified as C-89-T6) and the C25-6-12 (previously identified as the C12-6). The enclosures shown are veneered with African Rosewood and have solid Sapelle wood inserts at the bass reflex port opening. They are lined with an epdm dampening material and stuffed with an acoustic fibrous tangle. Break in time is estimated to be eight weeks under normal listening conditions. Cabinets measure 16″ tall x 6.75″ wide x 11.75″ deep and weigh 21.8 lbs. with drivers installed. These small cabinets will amaze you with the musical detail and tight bass they deliver…a really fantastic speaker system. The David Dicks designed Monitor bass reflex cabinet. This description is from the CommonSense Audio website:

“The Monitor (1.5 cubic feet) is our largest bookshelf system. Similar in size to the classic bookshelf systems of the 1960′s and 1970′s, it gives the bass of many floor standing systems in a smaller package. As with all the bookshelf systems, they can be placed upright or on their side. This cabinet was specially designed for the ‘Super 8 Alnico’ and the performance is stunning. But it works well with all our other models, including the 10 and 12 inch sizes. (24T x 13.5W x 11.25D inches or 610 x 343 x 286 mm) ”

Wyatt Acoustics also builds a “Studio” version of this cabinet using extra dampening and very thick wall materials. Suitable for mixing, this cabinet with the 8″ Alnico AN driver provides exceptional midrange clarity and is an invaluable tool for the audio engineer. Paul Reed Smith (PRS Guitars) uses our monitors in his private studio, The Dragon Crossing. The studio version is only available in Black finish.

The David Dicks designed 2.8 bass reflex cabinet. The description is from the CommonSense Audio website:

“The 2.8 comes in two versions. The Series I has a wide front baffle but is shallow in depth. The MkII has a thin front baffle but is deeper. The difference is mainly in the styling. Both versions are available with two different porting arrangements. The “Big Port” version offers more mid bass at the expense of some low bass output. The “Twin Port” version has 1/3 octave more extension, at the expense of some midbass output. We generally recommend the “Big Port” version for most customers. Both porting arrangements are shown on the same plans.

We also offer two different dual driver designs: the 2.8 Dynamic and the 2.8 Ambience. The Dynamic gives a big, powerful sound while maintaining the same overall tonal balance as the normal 2.8. The Ambience puts a lot more weight on the bottom end and adds a sense of ‘air’ to the music. It’s our favorite version of the 2.8.

The Wyatt Acoustics Stealth model speaker enclosures coupled with the 8″ Stealth Subwoofer create a wonderfully coherent listening system perfect for the discerning listener with limited space. The main cabinets feature a single Audio Nirvana 6.5″ full range alnico driver with a sensitivity of 88.231 dB making them perfect for use with small wattage tube amplifiers as well as any solid state gear. The speakers are the culmination of more than a year of intensive effort to deliver a small speaker with audiophile quality sound in an elegant enclosure that won’t break the bank. Speakers may be used upright, laid on the side to fit on a bookshelf, or placed on a stand as your space allows. The response curve is very pleasing with fantastic mid and high range definition and a very respectable low end. As with any single point source speaker, best system results are achieved by the addition of our small sub-woofer in a matching cabinet. Stealth 8″ Subwoofer

The Stealth 8″ Subwoofer adds the perfect low end enhancement to the Stealth speakers. The vented enclosure delivers big smooth bass with a very small footprint. The Stealth Sub is available in a passive version that interfaces with a powered LFE output channel, as provided on the Dared DV-6C hybrid amplifier 5:1 amplifier that we offer with our complete systems, and as a powered version for systems without powered outputs for the low end. The powered version uses a BASH 300 watt plate amplifier. BASH patented amplifier technology was developed to offer extreme amounts of power without the wasted heat and energy of traditional amplifier designs. Add to this an intelligent circuit design, and you get benefits such as extremely low distortion and high signal to noise ratios. The combination of clean output and high power makes the BASH amplifiers some of the best sounding subwoofer amplifiers on the market. Features: 50 to 150 Hz low-pass crossover, 0° or 180° phase, line level inputs, speaker level inputs, LFE input, master on/off switch, auto on. Specifications: • 300 watts RMS @ 0.5% THD into 4 ohm load • Signal to noise ratio: 105 dB (A-weighted).
